"Dogs have a special place in my heart," says Matt Kaeberlein, a US biologist and biogerontologist who coordinates the activities of the Dog Aging Project, the largest group of studies on canine longevity in the world.

This is the Advanced Canine Aging Mitigation Program (Pamec), a project led by the Brazilian biotech PetMoreTime, which will be under Kaeberlein's guidance.
The initiative will study police dogs using protocols that associate the use of medication with a healthy lifestyle.
Among the main highlights of the project is the use of rapamycin.
