Dogs don't live long and share many of the problems of human old age.

But around the world, a series of new scientific studies are trying to give dogs a longer and healthier life. In Brazil, the first initiative of its kind is due to begin this year and will investigate strategies for improving quality of life. Especially in professional dogs like Kitana, who belongs to the Battalion of Actions with Dogs (BAC) of the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro.
